CA. Manoj Fadnis, Past President, ICAI has been elected as the President of Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) for a period of two years at the Board meeting of CAPA held recently at Kuala Lumpur. CA. Fadnis had served as Deputy President, CAPA from 2015-2017. ICAI representative has got the President position in CAPA after a gap of ten years.

With more than 28 years of experience and proven track record, Mr. Fadnis has held numerous leadership positions within the accountancy profession in India. He was the President of ICAI during the year 2015-16. On the international front, he is the member of the SMP Committee of the International Federation of Accountants. He was the Assembly & Board Member of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) and was the Chair of the SMP Committee of SAFA.

Mr. Fadnis has varied and distinguished experience in area of Taxation and Auditing. He has represented ICAI at various international forums, where he has espoused the concerns of SMPs in the developing nations like India.

The Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) is a regional organisation representing 32 national professional accountancy organisations (PAOs) operating in Asia and the Pacific. These PAOs, referred to as CAPA’s members, represent over 1.6 million accountants across the region. CAPA is representing national accountancy organisations in the Asia-Pacific region and ICAI is one of founding members of CAPA. It is one of four regional organisations (ROs) recognised by the global accountancy profession, which is represented by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
