The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has always been playing an important role in positioning the Indian accounting profession prominently on all the International Accounting Forms and building up brand image internationally.

CA. S. B.Zaware, Central Council Member, ICAI has been elected as the Vice-Chair of the Asian Oceanian Standard Setters Group (AOSSG) for a period of two years commencing from November, 2017. After serving as Vice Chair for two years, CA. Zaware shall take the charge as next AOSSG Chair.

CA. Zaware has held numerous leadership positions within the profession. Currently, he is the Chairman of Accounting Standards Board (ASB) of ICAI and also a Special invitee to National Advisory Committee on Accounting Standards (NACAS) set up under section 210A of the Companies Act by the Government of India. CA. Zaware has a vast experience of Indian Accounting Standards & IFRS and has been instrumental in notifying the Accounting Standards in India under the Companies Act. He has in-depth knowledge of the issues /problems being faced by Indian industry in complying with the Accounting Standards across various industry segments.

About AOSSG

The Asian-Oceanian Standard-Setters Group (AOSSG) is a group of the accounting standard-setters in the Asian-Oceanian region established in November, 2009. ICAI is a founder member of AOSSG. Currently, AOSSG has 26 members and it represents the Asian-Oceanian region in the Accounting Standards Advisory Forum of IFRS Foundation. AOSSG has been formed to discuss issues and share experiences on the adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and contribute to the development of a single set of high-quality global accounting standards.
