The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the World's Largest Accountancy Body, today united for ‘CA Run for Viksit Bharat’ to commemorate 75 years of service to the nation. This grand event highlights ICAI’s and the CA Profession’s commitment to the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to transform India into a developed nation by 2047.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of members and CA students from across the world. All 5 Regional Councils, 176 Branches, Chapters, Study Circles, and Foreign Chapters commenced the run at 6:00 AM, creating a global wave of solidarity and commitment towards service to the Indian economy in the public interest. In New Delhi, the run was flagged off from ICAI Headquarters (ICAI Bhawan, Indraprashta Marg, New Delhi-110002) and concluded at the iconic Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, near India Gate.
On this occasion, Chief Guest, Shri Harsh Malhotra, Hon’ble Minister of State of Corporate Affairs & Road Transport and Highways congratulated ICAI on its 75 Years celebrations. He said, completing 75 years is truly a proud moment. Institute has significantly contributed towards strengthening the accounting standards since its inception in 1949.The vision of a Viksit Bharat given by our Hon’ble Prime Minister, relies heavily on a robust economy, and Chartered Accountants are the backbone of this economy. Indian Chartered Accountants are not just contributing to, but driving, the growth of major global enterprises. Today, India is the 5th largest economy of the world and in the next five years, India is poised to become the 3rd largest economy, with Chartered Accountants playing a vital role in this progress.”

On July 1, 2024, ICAI will be celebrating its foundation day, a journey that began in 1949 for regulating and developing of the profession of Chartered Accountant in the country. Over the past 75 years, ICAI has not only set the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in the accounting field but has also played a crucial role in shaping India's economic landscape. To mark this occasion a grand event is being organized at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi from 3.30 PM Onward.
